Area of Application: Rehabilitation

The intermittent vacuum therapy (-IVT-) with the Vacumed ® -device is suitable for numerous indications in the area of rehabilitation.

Vacumed ® achieves excellent results in the battle against vascular complaints (CVI, PAOD / PAD) with the patients of any age who suffer from multiple diseases (see venous indications and arterial indications).

In this reference, the prolonging of pain free walking distance (+80% in fourteen days, Schink 2006) is particularly relevant due to intermittent negative-pressure treatment (-IVT-). The trigger is the increase of capillarisation through therapy.

The innovative treatment procedure offers another benefit in the quick but also contactless drainage of post-traumatic or post op.  oedema  (Alf 2004, Orlietsky / Timschenko 2009). This leads to a significant reduction of the duration of rehabilitation which can be extremely useful for economic reasons (e.g. lump-sum payments, professional sports or VIP). The particular advantage of the intermittent negative pressure therapy (-IVT-) is that in addition to the very effective lymph drainage, the wound area is optimally perfused and saturated with oxygen.
